You may have noticed that the UFF-FSU Chapter web site, www.uff-fsu.org, is not hosted by FSU. Although the contract between UFF and the Board of Trustees provides for a university-hosted web site for the UFF-FSU Chapter, we were concerned that university hosting also implied restrictions on what we could do with our web site.

The move to the www.uff-fsu.org site not only avoids some possible problems for the UFF-FSU Chapter, it also, as a by-product, opens up some new possibilities that may be of interest to you. We are interested in hearing from FSU faculty about ways that the UFF-FSU could serve them by offering electronic or virtual services not offered by the administration. For example, would faculty be interested in Web space not controlled by the university? Would there be a need for email lists, moderated or not as they case may be, based on workplace themes or issues affecting faculty? What about calendaring or scheduling software?
